Market Landscape Q1 2015
Mixed macroeconomic indicators pushed and pulled the markets in Q1, but the economy refused to take a firm stance in either direction. Volatility picked up during the quarter as the S&P 500 endured movements greater than 1% on 32% of the quarter’s trading days. That is an 109% increase from 2014, when movements greater than 1% occurred on only 15% of trading days.
